It's now that time of year where Girl Scout Cookies are out in full force!
For the third year, the Girl Scouts held their annual Girl Scout Cookie Recipe Contest. Professionals and home cooks from around Western Washington were eligible to participate - and the competition is fierce.
New Day has the honor of announcing this year's winner!
Siiri Sampson took home first prize with her rendition of the Samoa - The coconut cream filled croissant donut!
Siiri was a runner-up before in the annual contest to incorporate Girl Scout cookies into a recipe. See the details for her winning recipe by going to her website, "A Half Cup." Basically, she uses packaged croissant dough cut into donuts that are stuffed with cream and crumbled Samoa cookies (chocolate and caramel) and topped with toasted coconut. She was ready for them this year! "Be Prepared," that's what Girl Scouts say.
