Arnold Sampson has lost his wife Sharlene to COPD. David explains that she had been ill for some time, and had been hospitalized several times during the past year when it became difficult for her to breathe. On January 20, when she labored to breathe, she told Arn that she loved him, and she was going to die. It is Dave's impression that she is survived by siblings from the Tillamook area, as well as by Arn and his two children, Eric Sampson and Kelly Sampson Zimmerman, both of Eugene.
