Jon Sampson recalls Mark's possibly first and last deer hunt. "As I understand it, the deer was running away, Mark shot, the deer fell, & they couldn't find the entry wound (the orifice right under the tail)."
Mark responds: "I don't remember the entry site, but it was running away and ultimately the bullet went into the lungs. Then the shell (a reload) broke off in the barrel of Dad's (Vake's) 30-06 and jammed, so it took a while to chamber another round and finish it off."
