Hey Sampson Clan!
James and I are so crazy happy to introduce you to our
newest member. Arthur Youxi Meiser was born on Monday, 4.20.2020.
Delivery was a little tough. Mommy is good at so many
things, but turns out pushing ain't one of them. The attending called on housekeeping
to roll in the old shop vac, and young Arthur got hoovered out just in time for
Mommy's epidural to have worn off—Wahoo! A
word of caution to lady-Sampsons in their childbearing years: Do not let a
resident doctor coach you on pushing, especially if it's a dude!
Arthur is a family name on the Meiser side. And Youxi (say
it like the dinosaur from Super Mario World) was chosen by his grandma and
great-grandma. Basically, it translates from Chinese as "Another
Sunrise." We think of it as a remembrance for our parents who have passed,
Sandy and Mike.

Sue adds: The real translation is "One day late." April 19 would have been the 106th birthday of great-grandpa Vake Sampson.
