Jon and Barbara's Dog Trudy

Jon and Barbara have lost their dog Trudy to old age.  Jon says:

We found Trudy at a mixed-breed rescue center on the Chickahoamie River (operated by Struther Sharp, who taught Latin in the Williamsburg school system as a 'day job').  Barbara thought Trudy was 'homely,' but I was taken to her.  This was on a Friday, and Struther said we could pick her up on Monday or Tuesday (while she was at work).  Letting Trudy out of her enclosure, she proceeded to make the rounds of all the other animals within the building, but when it came time to go out the main door, she 'went limp,' like protesters do sometimes.  I wasn't going to 'drag her out the door,' so I picked her up in my arms.  When she didn't 'bite my face off,' I thought it was a good sign.

She came to us in the fall of 2002 (the year Dad died in July).  She left us on Monday, June 17, 2013, at roughly the age (in human years) of 100.  She was a GREAT dog, and we are already missing her.  Possibly as sublimation, I smoked 28 individual portions of 'homemade' bacon yesterday morning; cut 2/3rds of the lawn at mid-day; & made a batch of sourdough/cornmeal muffins in the afternoon.
