A New Approach to a Christmas tradition

Vake and Gil as Pteranodons, with maternal grandmother Mary Sabra MonroeAnd the pteranodon shall lie down with the lamb?

Alison is trying valiantly to give her son Vake a traditional Episcopalian upbringing.  She takes him to Sunday school, where she teaches and her mother serves as a member of the vestry.   Eric likely isn’t much help, having been brought up as a Santa Claus and Easter Bunny Christian.  In fact, I’ve heard him comment that he’d attend church more if they’d trade the communion wafers and wine for chips and beer.
But Vake is developing his own approach to religious tradition. ‘Tis the season for Christmas pageants, and Vake has been asked to appear as a sheep in the nativity scene. He wants to go as a dinosaur instead. He’ll be the one in the pteranodon costume left over from Halloween.
Somebody ( probably Eric) commented to Alison’s website that next year Vake will be coached ahead of time:  He’ll ask to appear as Bigfoot driving a low rider with spinning rims.
